形態特徵

• Culms stout, tufted, 3-8-noded, nodes bearded.
• Ligule ca. 0.4 mm long, ciliate.
• Inflorescence a single raceme, ca. 2.5 cm long; joint of rachis ciliate, ca. 1/2 as long as spikelet. Spikelets paired, dimorphic, pedicellate spikelet 1/2 its length of sessile one, both with 2 long awns; sessile spikelet oblong, ca. 2.5-3 mm long. Glumes papery, lower truncate, fimbriate, ca. 2.5 mm long, 5-nerved, awnless, upper with a long awn, deltoid-lanceolate, upper margins fimbriate; lower lemma membranaceous, oblong, minutely 2-toothed, nerveless; upper lemma membranaceous, 2-cleft, with a long awn arising from sinus; upper palea membranaceous, margins folded, truncate and fimbriate, as long as lemma or slightly longer.

分布

• 台灣 : rare often in tufts on rocky banks.
• 世界 : India, Myanmar and Sri Lanka and grows in rather hotter and lower situations than <i>Pogonatherum crinitum</i>. Also in Vietnam and Malaysia and extending to Australia.
